This week has been crazy crazy crazy!
I have not stopped and this evening has been the first time i've stopped to think about everything and what to tell you about so i apologise if it all comes out abit of a tumble! I suppose it has been a little sad this weekend as i have had to say goodbye to six of my sock friends but they've gone to live with a very nice family not too far away so i'm happy i've found good homes for them...plus it was getting slightly crowded in our little house (not that i'd ever say that infront of them but we do have another baby to make room for!). We had a little photo shoot before i packed them all up in their own drawstring bags and put them in the boot, so if you'd like to see them in action just click on the sock friends link at the left hand side of the page as they have decided to go it alone with their very own blog...they subtley told me i was cramping their style-the cheek of it!
It was also Halloween which has always been a bit of a non-event in our house, as one who gets scared by...well, everything really (i'm especially scared of walking in the dark but never know if i'm more scared of the fact that i'm on my own in the dark or that i might see someone in the dark!) it has never really appealed to me plus the fact that being the daughter of a minister kind of squashes halloween from the word go, but anyway this year i thought i'd have a go at decorating a pumpkin. Joe had seen them in the shops and this meant we had to shout 'PUPKI!' every time we saw one, and i have always fancied having a go as it's quite a nice idea. So last night i started cutting stars out of my very small pumpkin and really enjoyed myself - we hung it outside the door on our flower basket hook and i was amazed that it didn't go up in flames...why is that?

I also had a request for halloween cupcakes so all together i did contribute to the whole halloween event quite alot this year.

I always seem to struggle to find icing cutters in the shapes i want and i often wonder if there's some cake-making haven that i am yet to discover, full of every shape and size of cutter i will ever need! Anyway this time round i used some small cookie cutters purchased from Tescos humungus halloween department - they had every costume under the sun, witches, pumpkins, ghosts and changing the subject just slightly, upstairs i saw they were selling ready made nativity outfits for Christmas and as nice as they are, i am sad i might not be able to dress Joseph up at his school nativity (that i shall cry all the way through - i cry when he dances to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!) in a dressing gown and tea towel for fear of him looking like 'the son of that women who didn't buy the really nice shepherd costume at tesco that includes a crook!' We all looked so cute in our white sheets and tinsel coat hangers and i think it will take part of the tradition away if they all turn up in perfectly fitted costumes!
