Apologies for lateness of blog, but as you can see i have been very busy harvesting my Boden carrots (only the best darling) included in one of last year's catalogues-genius! I wasn't sure how big they are suppose to get but Joseph loved pulling them up, washing them off and more importantly eating them!

I have also got a few more sock friends in the making-i seem to have got completely hooked and really enjoy creating new characters, they are living on the mantlepiece at the moment going under strict, and at some points quite harsh testing by a two year old boy. He has already made up his mind which ones are his favourites and if they are good for swinging around by their trunk, dragging around by one leg or snuggling up with long ears on the sofa.

My main and more realistic excuse for not having written any post on Sunday was that we went to Shaldon for the weekend. We stayed in a caravan and had wonderful weather-no sock friends, no cupcakes and the best bit no ironing...well obviously it was still at home but who takes ironing on holiday! It was the first time in ages that we had actually stopped for weeks and it was bliss.

I always find Teignmouth a very funny place; it has all the charm of a little seaside village and some really lovely shops but then you come across some hideous buildings just plonked in the middle, and you do have to pick out the really nice shops full of hand made loveliness from the tacky gift shops but do not rule out the charity shops as we picked up some real gems!

My favourite shops in Teignmouth
The Hub
No website for this one but on google maps if you fancy a visit, it has some lovely handmade bits and lots of christmas stuff in at the mo. i must admit i do go in there to get ideas for myself as it's definately one of those shops you go in and say ooo i could make that...only problem is finding the time and then wish i'd bought it when i was there!

Turn of the tide

This shop stocks seasalt clothing which is always good and has some really nice artwork. The lovely chap who owns it has always been really friendly when we've gone in and sells cards designed by his wife! A definate visit for artwork, gifts, cards and clothes!

There is also the most amazing cake shop and cafe that left our mouths watering just looking through the window, and a brilliant cookware shop...i know that sounds a bit boring but just go in, i've never seen so much in such a little shop and we finally bought a runner bean shredder-something we have been in search of for ages!
